Why I Love Maca Powder

If you Google Maca, you will uncover many benefits and uses for Maca. Everything from enhancing energy, stamina, athletic performance, acne, memory, fertility, PMS, mood swings, hormone balance, anemia, and chronic fatigue. Maca is packed with many minerals, fatty acids, and amino acids that work to regulate the hypothalamus and pituitary glands.

As with anything, balance is the key...to much of a good thing does not equal better!

I use 1 T of maca powder once or twice a week in a smoothie or juice. I am not a fan of maca supplement capsules. In general, I am not a fan of supplements if I can get the same thing directly from a food source. You really have no way of knowing what is in the capsule and how pure the products are...supplements have very few regulations and scientific standards. They also make many "to good to be true" claims. For me, it is just too much fluff, unknown, and lack of trust for most businesses as their primary goal is to make a profit. The cheaper the products they use, the more profit. There are definitely some supplements I take every day (omegas, superfood, vitamin D, etc.) but if I can get the same dosage and positive effects knowing exactly where it came from, it is a win win!!
